Become A Volunteer

Volunteers are the beating heart of our organisation, they deliver our helpline and email support services, contribute to decision-making, support our activism, help our campaigning, promote our publicity and fundraise for us.

We are looking to grow our team of dedicated volunteers and are looking for women who represent our diverse community to join our team. No previous experience is needed, as training is provided, we just ask for passion and commitment!

What Do Volunteers Do?

The main role of volunteers is to provide support to survivors of sexual abuse through our telephone helpline and Email Support Service.

Helpline and email support is provided from either our Exeter or Torquay offices. Volunteers are required to cover two helpline sessions a month and attend a monthly volunteer meeting, for supervision and development held in Exeter on a Tuesday or Thursday evening.

Become A Volunteer

No previous experience is needed as full training is provided. The training programme, accredited by OCN London, runs over a 6 month period.

This is a rewarding volunteering opportunity for an organisation that provides high quality support services. As well as the accredited training, there will be continual training opportunities and the chance to join in and represent the organisation at events.

We welcome women from all diverse backgrounds and experiences. We particularly welcome applications from women from black and minority ethnic communities. This post is restricted to female applicants only under Schedule 9, part 1, Equalities Act 2010

DRCSAS is amazing in so many ways and I feel volunteering here has really changed my life, and continues to be somewhere I often feel safe, valued and empowered, which I often don’t feel in many other areas of my life <3

Volunteer

I feel so well supported in my role here and I never feel I have to go looking for that support.

Volunteer

It has been a positive life changing experience for me

Volunteer

It is such a great organisation to be a part of - thanks!

Volunteer

I love being part of DRCSAS and feel proud of what we achieve. This is because of the support of the whole team and the cohesion of the organisation despite changes in our services and staff changes. The issues can be overwhelming but just being able to help SUs one at a time feels powerful

Volunteer

I feel a valued member of the organisation

Volunteer

The initial volunteer training was an excellent experience. Very well done. I felt supported and encouraged to expand my ideas.

Volunteer

I feel I am treated with respect and kindness at all times and that my contribution is valued.

Volunteer

It's a really caring and supportive organisation.
