At Devon Rape Crisis & Sexual Abuse Services, we staunchly believe in fostering an environment free from all forms of discrimination, including racism. We are committed to actively dismantling systemic racism and promoting equality for all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, or background.
We recognise that the fight against racism requires ongoing dedication and action. Therefore, we are diligently working towards becoming an anti-racist organisation. This includes comprehensive training, continuous assessment, and seeking guidance from specialist organisations with expertise in anti-racism initiatives.
Our commitment to anti-racism extends beyond mere words; it will be ingrained in our organisational ethos. We are dedicated to being intersectionally inclusive, understanding that the struggle for justice is interconnected with various forms of oppression.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we are in the process of developing a comprehensive anti-racism policy. This policy will serve as a roadmap, guiding our actions and decisions to ensure that anti-racism is embedded in every aspect of our work and the culture of our team.
We acknowledge that this journey is ongoing and that there is much work to be done. However, we are resolute in our determination to create a safe and inclusive space for all survivors of sexual violence, regardless of race, ethnicity or background.
Together, we stand united in our commitment to challenging racism and creating a more just and equitable society for all.
