I am delighted to have joined Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services in June 2015 as a young persons counsellor. This gives me the opportunity to work as part of a great team and provide a much needed service to young women who have experienced sexual violence. I have been working as a counsellor for over 10 years in Devon and Bristol. I have worked alongside agencies who have provided support to women who have experienced domestic abuse, children in schools and projects advocating for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) communities. Prior to this I worked in housing providing support to vulnerable tenants encouraging independent living, and with young women as a youth and community worker. I enjoy working creatively, encouraging clients to explore feelings in a safe environment at a pace that is right for them. I feel proud to be a part of the important and vital service provided by DRCSAS.
