Specialist Support Worker – Homeless Women

Kate

This is a new project delivering a needs-led, coping and recovery focused service to women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and who are affected by sexual violence.
I’m passionate about working with Women, Mental Health, Resilience and Recovery, the Criminal Justice System and systems working together for better outcomes. When I’m not working on that I like to go on little and large explorations with friends, I like to eat food, frolic in any kind of water, share conversations and watch people do art. I’ve volunteered for and worked with DRCSAS for 7 years, in the roles of volunteer, trustee and staff (twice). What I love about DRCSAS, besides being welcomed into a service which specialises in trauma, recovery and feminist activism, is that you can come through the door as a service user and end up on the board of trustees helping to guide the service as it develops. DRCSAS values and invests so much in its people, those accessing the service and its staff.
